One night when I was crying out to God for answers, my breast implants kept popping into my mind and I knew with such conviction that this was the missing puzzle piece. Keep in mind, there were no Facebook groups or blogs discussing Breast Implant Illness at the time. I spent countless hours researching and learned that breast implants can be a chronic source of chemical and immune system stress on the body, causing all sorts of downstream dysfunction!
Instantly it became crystal clear to me that we have to first remove the source (or sources in most cases). For me, that meant I had to get my breast implants removed. I also became clear on what I needed to do post-explant in order to heal myself. I knew I could heal my body and overcome breast implant illness naturally.
My plan was to start with explant and then to start working on addressing any remaining root causes and cleaning up the downstream disaster that the breast implants likely helped create.
Bottom line: It was a journey, but in the end I was able to balance my hormones, heal my gut, get my cognitive function back, restore my thyroid function and energy levels, and eliminate any remaining symptoms post-explant.
What I've learned from working with more than 100 women post-explant is that HEALING IS ABOUT MORE THAN THE EXPLANT. Often times Breast Implants are not the only root cause of your symptoms and in addition to that, they pave the way for downstream issues like pathogens, toxic overload, hormone imbalances, and immune dsyregulaltion. The reality is that there are commonly other hidden stressors that have loaded the gun and the Breast Implants pulled the trigger. There is more work to be done after explant. Removing the source (or sources) is step one.
